We love to get organised here on KiddyCharts; with my background around ADHD making sure we plan is critical. Therefore planners and organisers are a fact of life. BUT, have you ever considered organising your decluttering? If not, then why not take a look at the declutter your home checklist and planner that we are sharing today, and see if it changes your life. 😂
You might ask why decluttering is relevant to our themes on KiddyCharts; but it is both fabulous for mental health to keep your space tidy, and a way of improving mental health and being mindful. In addition, any advice that we give around decluttering is relevant to the family home; naturally. Don’t forget to check out all our mindfulness resources for both parents and kids. We even have a fabulous free book club for kids around wellbeing.
This is a collaborative post.
Clutter gathers a lot in houses where there is ADHD, but in all honesty, in every house! Decluttering can be hard as a family, with toys, gifts, clothes, all piling up as the kids grow. Before you know it, you are needing to hire a van, and look around for van racking to get everything to the tip!
It doesn’t have to be like this though, you can organise your decluttering using our declutter planner to make life easier, and your organising more harmonious and less stressful. We do have a decluttering challenge, or a 30-day minimalism challenge to take a look at too. Why not combine the planner with these ideas for a complete solution to your home organisation?
What is included within the declutter your home checklist and planner?
Our planner comes with 11 pages, including the usual title sheet, and copyright notice. We have organised the planner by room, and then into ways to organise those rooms, alongside ideas for decluttering in each room.
The first few pages of the checklist as actually preparation sheets for you, covering all the main areas within the house. Think about what it is that you need for decluttering and organising those rooms.
- What cleaning supplies do you need?
- Do you have enough storage? If not what storage do you need to get?
- Have you considered what the room is used for predominantly, and is it organised to fit that purpose?
- Do you need to ask the kids if they are happy with their bedrooms, and what to make any changes?
- What is the budget for re-organising, or you have one? Remember, you can keep budgets low if you think ahead, and repurpose items that you already have in the rooms.
A great way of approaching this is to tackle each room one at a time, thinking about the questions above, and writing what you need on the sheets we have provided for you.
After the planning sheets, we have covered each of the main locations within the house, including the checklists for both organising and the declutter your home checklist too.
We are covering the following rooms for you:
- Living Room,
- Dining Room / Kitchen,
- Bathroom,
- Kids’ Room – you can, of course, print out more than one sheet if you need to here,
- Play Room,
- Study, and finally the
- Master bedroom.
The final sheet within the pack has a little room, so that you can add in your own checklists if you need to. Just in case we didn’t quite think of everything! 😂
Once you have gone through all these declutter checklists, the house will feel more calm, and less chaotic. Even with the kids still in it 😂
