Parent Blogging All Stars #11: Love Chic Living

Love Chic LivingWe have another lovely Parent Blogging All Star to find out about this week, the wonderful Jen from Love Chic Living. Lets meet her!

Your Name:

Jen Stanbrook

Blog Name:

Love Chic Living

What are the sexes and ages of your children?:

I have 2 girls, now aged 6 and almost 9 – yikes!

What got you into parent blogging?:

I started blogging in 2011 to support a business I was running. I used to teach families and babies how to use baby sign language and wanted an outlet for all the business and signing stories that I had at the time. Once I had the bug I decided to set up something more personal and Love Chic Living was born. At first this covered home and style as well as my family and the children, but I’ve now decided to keep this one just for family home stuff and blog about the children and family life over at my new blog Love Chic Mum!

What is your top parenting tip to share with our readers? Can be on any topic for little ones :-):

My top parenting tip would be all around Praise. Give it to them in buckets. Tell them how brilliant they are, how proud you are of them and how well they are doing. My eldest daughter has Aspergers and finds accepting praise very difficult so we do try and do this in indirect ways as much as possible which works for her.

Can you share a parenting advice post with us from your blog too; your favourite one? Please include the link.:

Well, on Love Chic Living, where we look at the family home I did quite a bit of work on a room makeover and we focused on new storage ideas. I was really pleased with the end result and even vlogged it! http://lovechicliving.co.uk/a-girls-bedroom-design-dilemma-follow-up/

Who’s your favourite parent blogger at the moment and why? Please include a link to their blog home page.:

I’m going to say Amanda from http://theanamumdiary.co.uk because she recently gave her blog a lovely makeover and even did her own css file
editing! I love her style, although it’s probably quite different to mine, and I love her photography skills too. Her mix of posts is great from ‘I Love Mondays’ to local posts, home makeovers, family posts and even lovely recipes. A lovely bit of everything.

Helen is a mum to two, social media consultant, and website editor; and this site is (we think) the only Social Enterprise parenting magazine!Since giving up being a business analyst when juggling travel, work and kids proved too complicated, she founded KiddyCharts so she could be with her kids, and use those grey cells at the same time.KiddyCharts has reach of over 1.1million across social and the site. The blog works with big family brands (including travel) to help promote their services, as well as offering free resources to parents of kids under 10.It gives 51%+ profits to Reverence for Life, who fund a number of important initiatives in Africa, including bringing running water and basic equipment to a school in Tanzania.Helen has worked as a digital marketing consultant (IDM qualified) with various organisations, including Channel Mum, Truprint, Talk to Mums, and Micro Scooters. She loves to be creative in the brand campaigns she works on.Get in touch TODAY!
