It is Thursday, and that can mean only one thing – another free printable for you all! We have a gorgeous bug hunt for everyone this week. You can do this a couple of ways with the kids, depending on the season:
- Indoors: Get them to circle and tick off all the bugs/insects on the sheet just as a little game. You can, of course, if they are a little younger talk them through the differences between the insects, and the spiders, and everything else in fact! Entirely up to you how much education you put into the game – sometimes its nice to educate the kids without them knowing don’t you think?
- Outdoors: If you are looking for a bit of outdoor fun, then get them to print out the sheet and take with them either into the garden, or on a walk with you; perhaps into the woods, or through your local fields or park? You can then get them to see which of the animals they can spot; both identifying them, and then ticking them off on the sheet that they we have for you.
Both these are great ways to make your bug hunt that little bit more fun for the children, and it means that this printable can be enjoyed in any kind of weather from the cold in the winter, to the height of the summer when you can go chase the butterflies!
The bugs we are hunting for are:
- Ant,
- Bee,
- Black beetle,
- Butterfly,
- Fly,
- Grasshopper,
- Ladybird,
- Moth,
- Spider, and finally
- Stag beetle; this might be a little harder to fin in “real life”, but you can always do the task over a few days or even weeks, and when you find one of the bugs, just have it to hard to tick off!
There are lots more free printables on the site, so do go and check them out. We also love sharing with you on our Pinterest account other great printables from around the web, so do drop over there and follow our Printables board as well:

So, without further ado – here is the Printable bug hunt for you to all download – do have fun with it!
Let us know how all your kids get on in their bug hunts too if you want – we’d love to find out. Until next time.
