This is a collaborative post. Being pregnant isn’t all sunshine and lollipops. Yes, at the end of your nine months you will end up with a tiny little perfectly formed bundle of joy, but it can be a tough journey to achieve the end result. Often, being pregnant can result in changes to your body and mind that you could not anticipate. However, there are ways you can mitigate illness, pains, and twinges. Take a look at this simple guide that will help you to banish your pregnancy pains for good
Varicose Veins
The strange sensation and look of varicose veins can be quite frightening for some pregnant women. Hopefully, this condition will remain acute while you are expecting, but sometimes this can turn into a more chronic condition. When you are pregnant, consider getting hold of some pregnancy leggings that can provide gentle compression of the legs. This means the itching and pain that accompanies varicose veins will diminish. If the condition does become chronic post-pregnancy, you don’t have to put up with it. Exercise regularly to improve blood flow, elevate your legs when resting and try not to stand up for too long. If your varicose veins do become severe, simple surgical procedures can be carried out by a vascular specialist to cure the condition.
Heartburn
While not all women experience heartburn during pregnancy, those that do can suffer severe symptoms. The sensation of acid reflux often gets worse after eating or if you have been lying down for a while. Progesterone can also make your digestive system more sluggish leading to increased heartburn. To combat this, you can always take the antacid type tablets that you can pick up at the chemist. This is a good short term solution for immediate relief. If the heartburn does become severe, you may need to change your eating habits. Eat little and often and try to avoid spicy foods. Raise your pillows by a few inches so that you don’t lie down flat in bed, and try to curb the eating a couple of hours before you hit the sack.

Back Ache
Nearly every pregnant woman will suffer backache at some point. Even during your first trimester, the position of your little darling may be pushing on your organs in such a way that you begin to suffer niggles. Specialist pilates classes for pregnant ladies are perfect to teach you new posture techniques to aid in negating lower back pain. By focusing on your breathing and the way that you sit, you can revolutionise your pain in just a few simple steps. If you enjoy heading to the gym, don’t let pregnancy stop you. While you might not be completing the power blast circuits class, you can enjoy a gentle exercise bike ride or a light jog on the treadmill to ease your niggles.
Being pregnant for some women is not the pleasant experience it’s often thought of being. However, with solid symptom management, you can combat any aches and pains, and enjoy welcoming your little cherub into the world.
