How do you get your blog noticed?

Collaborative post

Getting your blog noticed takes time and effort, and in most cases, it’s not something that just happens overnight! We’ve got a few resources to help you to rock the parent blogging world. In short, you’ve got to build up your reputation within your niche, to make sure you’re a source people want to come back to, for information, and to just share in the life you like to write about online.

How to get your blog noticed

It can be quite a long process, and everyone has a different kind of success with it. But if you’re curious about what tends to get a blog, parent blogs included, noticed the most – here are some of the most common methods below. Why not put them to good use yourself!

It’s complicated, it takes time; so track it!

How to get your blog noticed

Of course, it’s complicated. Getting your blog noticed is going to take a lot of work, and not all of the methods out there are going to work out well for you. Depending on the niche you blog in, and whether or not you’ve found your ‘tribe’ yet, you’re going to have mixed results with everything you try. It’s important to keep that in mind before you get going with any SEO implementation plans, or affiliate marketing schemes, or writing on a semi-regularly basis.

You’ve got to keep at it, above all else, and not let yourself be held back by something turning out less than stellar in practice.

It is important to accept that complicated take time, so you have to have the patience and resolve to keep at it. Keep a record of that you’ve done and when you started it to see how its affecting traffic, and revenues. If you have a tracking system in place, it’ll help you know what is working, and what isn’t!

Make sure you’re online regularly

If you want your blog to be noticed, then you need to be online as regularly as possible, during the initial setup and early days of work. You need to be a flexible and accessible person, who can write blog posts regularly (perhaps a few times a week), and stick around for a while to post across social media, and connect with other bloggers and your readers as well. Why does a blog take so much maintenance?

Because when you’re online, you’ve got your finger on the pulse, and you’ll be able to react on time, every time. You’ll be in the right place to write some quality content, and you’ll have the time and space on hand to carefully craft your SEO, as well as research the niche you’re in and help yourself fit it a bit better.

Google Trends is a great place to watch for subjects that are on the rise online – why not make a habit of checking it, and popping relevant topics on there onto your blog that fit with your niche?

Be interesting with your branded content

You also need to be interesting with the adverts you come up with; so that is the branded content that you are writing for your clients, as well as the ones you allow to be placed on your website by affiliate marketers and other blogging companies.

Make sure you know what ratio you are happy with as well of advertising vs organic content, and try and stick to it.

Most of all, you need to be sure that the adverts you’re placing are relevant; when they’re relevant and acceptable, your readers are going to find them interesting no matter what!

Let’s say you’re running an educational platform – what advert would be best to get people to sign up to a mailing list? Well, maybe some pop up ads for eLearning companies could help you out here; post a money off coupon for a learning experience? That guarantees you a very interested reader who wants to come back for more!

Keep it in niche, and on point; you don’t want to be offering a piece of advertorial content on decorating your bathroom, if your write about bikes, do you?!!?

We hope you find this helpful – why not check out some of the other content we have about social media and blogging on the site; we do write about it from time to time when we find a little nugget of relevance for the other parent bloggers out there:

Oh – and if you need a few tools to make blogging life easier, we’ve got some ideas there too!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and here’s is to you having an amazing blogging journey!

How to get your blog noticed

Helen is a mum to two, social media consultant, and website editor; and this site is (we think) the only Social Enterprise parenting magazine! Since giving up being a business analyst when juggling travel, work and kids proved too complicated, she founded KiddyCharts so she could be with her kids, and use those grey cells at the same time. KiddyCharts has reach of over 1.1million across social and the site. The blog works with big family brands (including travel) to help promote their services, as well as offering free resources to parents of kids under 10. It gives 51%+ profits to Reverence for Life, who fund a number of important initiatives in Africa, including bringing running water and basic equipment to a school in Tanzania. Helen has worked as a digital marketing consultant (IDM qualified) with various organisations, including Channel Mum, Truprint, Talk to Mums, and Micro Scooters. She loves to be creative in the brand campaigns she works on. Get in touch TODAY!
