Helping our kids to learn to read is clearly an important part of being a parent. Reading is a very important skill for everyone. With the advancement of technology has come audiobooks and videos that help keep kids engaged in learning without any necessity of reading. While technology has a place and is rather useful for many families, we love sharing new ways to help kids learn to read. Today we’re featuring an early emergent reader activity worksheet pack from a fantastic new Etsy shop, whose owner has been kind enough to allow us to use her first book for helping kids learn to read. Reading helps strengthen comprehension sills, vocabulary usage, and intelligence.
These activity worksheets feature some activities that will help your early reader have fun while learning how to read. They will be able to reap the benefits that come when you encourage a love of reading within your kids.
What is included in the early emergent readers worksheets
There are 20 different activity sheets within the pack for your children to learn to read, including:

As you can see – there are loads of different activities for you to do – here are some example though, so you can see before you decide to download or not.
What can you see?
This is a simple read and trace activity for the kids; we are using simple CVC words here to help emergent readers to learn the basics first, of course.
Your children can trace an upper case and lower case C to help with letter recognition. Since this worksheet pack is Cat and the Rat themed, your children will be able to work on CAT and RAT word and letter recognition within each activity; working on the C, R and T in particular.
What is it?
Within this worksheet, your children will love cutting and pasting the words found to help with learning the letters focused on in this booklet.
And we haven’t forgotten to include wordsearches within the worksheets, so that Your children won’t even realise that they’re learning, because they’ll be having so much fun!

What letter does it start with?
This is a great activity to encourage recognition, enabling children to look at the sign words and match them according to the letter that they start with. An excellent way to help them to learn the difficult sight words.
