We have already shared a twin mum essentials checklist with you, to help to make sure that you have everything you need for baby and mum when the little ones arrive BUT what about if you have a friend or are the partner of the twin mum. What can YOU do to help? Well, we’ve got a checklist for you today, and this time it is for a twin mum care package. In fact, an any mum care package.
We have thought hard about what mums need, alongside Leonie Huie, the author of The First Year Is Survival (Amazon affiliate link). Why not consider setting up a baby wish list to help mum out, or help yourself out if you are the mum (or Dad)! 😂
The First Year Is Survival: The Essential Guide to Parenting Twins and Multiples
Leonie wrote this book for the parents of multiples, but an awful lot of the advice applies to anyone who has little ones. It aims to support, and advise those within the first year of their child’s life with practical help, but most importantly a virtual arm around the shoulder. Do take a look.
What to put in a new mums care package
The most important part of being a mum/parents is accepting that you cannot do everything, and that there will be things that are out of your control. Acceptance of this, is half the battle, and does mean that you will be able to be kind enough to yourself so that you sleep when the baby sleeps, rather than tearing about doing the housework because you feel guilty that you haven’t got to it yet because you have two (or even one) clingy baby.
THIS is the most important thought before creating any new mum care package. Advise like this is priceless. We cannot do everything. That is OK. That is perfectly normally. Be kind to yourself as a new mum.
These are our ideas for care packages for mums of multiples, but they also work for ALL mums out there.
