This week’s parent blogging all star is Kelly of Project Me for Busy Mothers. Kelly started blogging after writing a book with the same title as her site. Let’s find out more about her:
Your Name:
Kelly Pietrangeli
Blog Name:
What are the sexes and ages of your children?:
I have two lovely boys aged 14 and 11.
What got you into parent blogging?:
I was originally writing a book called Project Me for Busy Mothers to help mums find a happier balance in life. The book idea morphed into a website with a drop down tab to categorise each blog into one of eight life areas. I launched it in September 2014 and it went global very quickly!
What is your top parenting tip to share with our readers? Can be on any topic for little ones :-) (under 8s):
As a mum to a tween and teen I am so grateful to have strong communication with my boys. We tell each other everything and I think this is down to my own honestly with them. I share my own ups and downs, what’s currently challenging me, as well as stories about my childhood and how I felt growing up. It means they feel open about sharing what’s going on in their own lives – and that means the world to me, especially now that they are getting older. I want to have a good handle on any issues they’re facing without having to snoop or pry!
Can you share a parenting advice post with us from your blog too; your favourite one? Why do you like this post? Please include the link for us.:
Well, my most popular blog is called How to Stop Shouting at Your Kids. I share my own battle with being a calmer parent and what’s helped me. Dr.Laura Markham of Aha! Parenting tweeted it and posted it on her Facebook page and it went viral with over 24,000 views in 24
hours! www.myprojectme.com/how-to-stop-shouting-at-your-kids/
Who’s your favourite parent blogger at the moment and why? Please include a link to their blog home page.:
I really like two bloggers equally
1. Pam Howard at Less Drama – More Mama www.lessdramamoremama.com
2. Amy at Seek, Act, Love www.seekactlove.com – both for the same reason! Their blogs about motherhood always resonate with me. They are positive and inspirational and help me to be more of the mum I want to be.
