Day of the Dead Coloring Book: But what is Day of the Dead
For those of your not in the U.S or Mexico, and we do have readers across the globe; you might not have heard of Day of the Dead. So what is it all about?
This is a festival, based on the Catholic All Saints Day, and originated in Mexico. It is a multi-day festival of celebrations. With family and friends gathering together and celebrating the lives of those no longer with them. It is a day to celebrate life, rather than to mourn the dead, and considered to be a way of remembering family members with positivity and fun.
In spanish speaking countries, the day is know as Día de los Muertos.
In Mexico, the festival lasts three days, and families visit cemeteries to be with their relatives, and create altars to the dead within the grounds. Nowadays, relatives tend to drink the favourite drinks of their relatives, and recall funny stories about them to keep the mood light, and amusing.
We hope that you enjoy this Day of the Dead coloring book, and that it adds to either celebrations for the festival, or helps you to entertain the kids.
