Barnes and Noble

B&N has a wide range of free ebooks for kids of all ages, from the littlest readers to young adults.

FreeKidsBooks.org

There are tons of books and activities for kids you can either view online or save as a PDF on this handy website.

KidsWorldFun

This great site has many digital picture books, perfect for young readers. It’s easy to navigate and a perfect additional to your digital children’s library.

Libby

The pub library digital lending program, Overdrive, has a free app called Libby that makes it easy to find free e-books for everyone, not just the kids. This robust program is entirely free if you have a library card, so be sure to save it for later!

Oxford Owl

The clever folks at Oxford University Press created Oxford Owl to help parents support their children’s literacy and math development at home. They have a wide selection of free online books for kids 2-11. Simply select an age group or book type to find the right free kids books for your purpose.

Amazon Free Kids Books

Amazon has dozens of free kindle books for kids that can be downloaded on the Kindle app. This is a great way to find new titles for free!

International Children’s Digital Library

The ICDL has thousands of free ebooks in a bunch of different languages. It’s as easy as clicking a title and reading!

Epic

Another great option is Epic, which has 40,000 free titles all tailored for kids. It has simple picture books for beginning readers and chapter books for older children. Although some titles are reserved for paying members, there are still tons of great titles available.

Storyline Online

Unlike some of the other options, Storyline Online is an award-winning website that features videos of actors who bring children’s picture books to life. This site has been growing for years and has famous celebrities like Betty White, Kevin Costner, James Earl Jones, Lily Tomlin, Oprah Winfrey, and many more. They’re perfect for bedtime stories or as a nice educational break during the day.

Library of Congress

The American Library of Congress has a limited selection of totally free classic children’s books that are now in public domain, like Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Anne of Green Gables, and Jack in the Beanstalk. These are digitized versions of the original printed books from the 1900s, so they’re a fascinating look at the past.

Project Gutenberg

Similar to the Library of Congress titles above, Project Gutenberg features public domain titles that are free to distribute. There are some classic titles like Peter Pan and The Velveteen Rabbit voracious readers will devour.
