We are giving you another gorgeous printable activity today in our 31 Days of Activities; this time some wonderful animal wordsearch for the kids from The Purple Pumpkin Blog. These farm animal wordsearch printables are fun for kids of all ages and a great way to learn about the different animals that live on farms.

There are four different word search puzzles in this set that is free to download and print at home, with bonus colouring-in activities on each page too!

Farm animals wordsearch

Word searches are a perfect activity for kids when they need a little bit of quiet time.

Not only are fun to solve, but they have great benefits including developing word recognition, increasing vocabulary and spelling, and encouraging problem-solving.

Puzzles like this farm animal word search are also fab for those with a competitive nature!

Whether it is by yourself and trying to solve the puzzle against a timer, or with other people and seeing who can find all the words first!

A list of words is hidden in a grid of jumbled up letters.

You must search through the grid to find the words, crossing them off the list as you go.

Words appear in a straight, unbroken line. Two-word clues, such as “guinea pig” will be unbroken and appear as “guineapig” in the grid without a space in between the words.

Depending on the difficulty level of the puzzle, words may appear forwards, backwards, horizontally, vertically, and/or diagonally. The directions for each puzzle are included on the printable.

Words may also cross paths or overlap (especially in more difficult levels).

You can use a pen or pencil to cross out the words as they are found.
A highlighter pen is best for children as the letters can still be clearly seen (useful when words cross paths on the grid).
