Literacy worksheets Introduction
Aren’t the illustrations lovely? This little cool cat is the introduction to the booklet and will get your kids excited to take on the vocabulary journey that will share a new word with your kids each day of the year!
Opening questions
Get into the spirit of the booklet with opening questions that are meant to get your kids thinking about words and the weight that they carry. We all know that words can mean so much and that one seemingly simple word can change the meaning of things entirely.
Template for card games
Play some card games with this template that is simple to use.
Word collectors
The word collectors sheet is an instruction sheet for more word games that your kids will love.
Create a story
Allow your kids to put into practice what they have been learning by creating a story based around the illustrations in the book. Give the characters a name, devise a story line, a problem, a resolution, and use some of the new words that the kids have learnt.
Index activity
This sheet encourages the kids to use the index to find words that they don’t know and look up the meaning. The kids are also encouraged to work on their pronunciation, and there is a prompt for a fun mystery object game too.
As you can see, the worksheets are absolutely beautiful and we just know that your kids will love the book too!
