We have some fun activities and ideas for you to celebrate the Mummies film release on 31st March, 2023, and beyond. These printable Mummies activities are perfect for the kids to enjoy after watching the Mummies film, but are also fun and exciting anytime too!
What do our Mummies activities look like
Our first two pages are all about having fun with heiroglyphics, alongside getting imaginative with colouring in two of the characters from the Mummies film.
Kids will definitely have fun decoding the hieroglyphics: it’s just like solving a puzzle. They get to work out just what the symbols mean, and then create their own messages. In our example, they can write their name – but they can also use the hieroglyphics as a new code for them to pass messages between each other – loads of fun AND a way to learn about ancient Egypt and its culture.
Colouring is always fun – don’t forget to check out our other colouring pages on the site. These are two of your favourite characters from the film – helping kids to express their creativity while learning about Eygpt too. It is, of course, also a great way to practice fine motor skills and focus on details.
Our next two activities are sudoku, the traditional spot the difference, and a new numeracy game with pyramids.
Sudoku is fun for kids as it’s a challenging puzzle that requires logic and problem-solving skills. It improves their concentration, memory, and critical thinking abilities. It’s also a great way to keep them entertained and engaged in a screen-free activity. Always a bonus! 😂
Spot the difference games have their origin in picture books for children, where they were used to develop observation and visual discrimination skills. They became popular in newspapers and magazines in the 1980s and have since evolved into online and mobile games. They are still used regularly now to enhance attention to detail and cognitive skills – both of which are vital for kids as they grow.
Our fill the gap numeracy game involve completing a sequence of numbers by filling in the missing gaps within the pyramids. These games help children develop their numerical fluency and understanding of basic arithmetic operations. They are also a lot of fun 😉.
What is the Mummies film all about
