Toy Story 4 Worksheets: How to use Toy Story to help kids to learn

We’ve all been guilty of popping on a film for the kids and then leaving them to their own devices. After all, a film is entertainment, right? What if I told you that as parents, we could actually use films to help our kids to learn? It’s very doable and very possible with help from sites like Into Film! In this post, we share with you some fab Toy Story 4 worksheets and share with you how you can use Toy Story to help kids to learn.

How kids can learn with films

Learning through film is a fantastic way to get the little ones engaged. Instead of thinking of animations as a distraction, we can use what the kids are most visually drawn to as a tool to engage them in learning about the world around them.

Kids can learn with films in many ways. Films can help our little ones to learn new languages, to manage and regulate negative emotions, and even to learn more about things that affect our day to day lives.

Why learn with Toy Story 4

If you haven’t seen Toy Story 4 you must watch it with your kids. The moral lessons in the film are many, but the one that rings most true and is the overwhelming voice is love and loss. From new toys that were created out of rubbish, which makes them feel as though that’s all they are; to old favourites that are longing for affection and acceptance. There are many lessons and emotions we can help our kids process.

Working through emotions

Emotions can be difficult for our kids to process in a positive and accurate manner. Of course, this isn’t through any fault of their own! With age comes wisdom and that includes emotional maturity. Though, that doesn’t mean that you can’t start at an early age helping your kids identify that there will be triggers in their day to day life. The secret is in helping them identify different types of emotions on time.

We hope you use these tools and free Toy Story 4 worksheets to engage your kids. And remember, there are many ways that you can use film to teach your kids different emotions, current events, and history! The Into Film website offers all sorts of learning resources for kids that incorporate film and learning!
